Job Description

Sanitation Supervisor - 3rd
Shift Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sanitation Supervisor to lead our sanitation team in maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily sanitation operations, ensuring sanitation procedures are compliant with regulations and Miracapo Pizza food safety standards. This is a leadership role that requires strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of sanitation procedures and protocols, and the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Design, direct, and manage the Sanitation Program in accordance with company policies and government regulations. Develop and implement process improvements and solutions to sanitation related problems with equipment, premises, processes, and personnel. Implement Best Practices throughout facility. Lead and oversee the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of SSOPs and MSS. Manage the 3rd party sanitation service company with support from the QA Manager. This will include observation of sanitation practices during non-production days and some weekends, as necessary. Collaborate with plant functional leadership to ensure established SSOPs are followed. Prepare required company and government reports providing analysis, trends, and corrective actions to any deviations. Investigate ways to reduce waste, downtime and improve equipment and employee utilization to improve processes. Prepare annual sanitation budget. Support all food safety and product certification processes and audits. Maintain and implement the Environmental Monitoring Program and lead resolution of micro deficiencies. Develop and train sanitation staff especially in the correct handling and usage of sanitation chemicals and focusing on development, coaching, and mentoring. Identify gaps specific to food safety and lead corrective actions. Serve as a key resource to assure proper scheduling to meet cleaning activities during normal run times and down periods. Track and monitor cleaning supplies, chemicals, tools, and any other equipment/supplies necessary to the operation of the department. Source new vendors for supplies to ensure the best cost.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
High school diploma or GED equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred. Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems is required. Five plus years of prior experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably in frozen food. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Initiative, sound analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to organize work independently with a minimum of supervision. Must be able to handle and safeguard confidential information and have the desire to work in a fast-paced team environment. Exceptional interpersonal skills to work with all levels of employees and coordinate a variety of functions. Demonstrated expertise with MS Office including Excel is essential. Knowledge of the chemicals used in the sanitation process. Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, WORK ENVIRONMENT
(summary) Must be able to work in temperature-controlled environments associated with ovens, freezers, and refrigerated warehouses. Frequent exposure to varying temperatures in the plant. Frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and bending. Must be able to stand and bend for long periods of time. Frequent lifting up to 15 pounds.
