Full Job Description Job Overview:
As a Water Treatment Operator, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of water treatment systems, with a specific focus on sand filters and chemical flocculation processes. You will monitor, adjust, and troubleshoot various treatment processes to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operation and Maintenance:
Operate and maintain sand filters, including backwashing and cleaning. Monitor and adjust chemical flocculation processes, ensuring proper dosage and mixing. Perform routine inspections and maintenance on water treatment equipment.
Monitoring and Testing:
Conduct regular water quality tests, including turbidity, pH, and chemical concentrations. Analyze test results and make necessary adjustments to treatment processes.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve issues with sand filters and chemical flocculation systems. Perform corrective actions and repairs as needed to maintain system efficiency.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure adherence to water quality regulations. Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance, and water quality tests.
Safety and Reporting:
Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Experience:
3-years of experience as a Water Treatment Operator or similar role, with specific experience in sand filters and chemical flocculation. Familiarity with water treatment regulations and best practices.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in water treatment is a plus.
Skills:
Strong technical skills and mechanical aptitude. Proficiency in water quality testing and analysis. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor settings and confined spaces. Capability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials
