Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Wastewater Operator and play a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of water treatment processes. In this energetic position, you will operate and monitor wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with environmental standards. Your expertise will help protect public health and preserve natural resources while supporting the ongoing success of our water management operations. This role offers an engaging environment where proactive problem-solving and mechanical skills make a real impact every day. Duties Operate and control wastewater treatment equipment, including pumps, valves, and filtration systems, to ensure optimal performance. Monitor system parameters using distributed control systems (DCS) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), making adjustments as needed to maintain treatment quality. Conduct routine inspections of mechanical components, plumbing, and heavy equipment to identify wear or malfunctions, performing repairs or coordinating maintenance as necessary. Collect and analyze data related to water quality, flow rates, chemical levels, and other critical metrics to ensure regulatory compliance. Perform heavy lifting tasks involving equipment parts or supplies, often requiring physical strength and proper safety procedures. Assist with construction or installation projects related to water treatment infrastructure, supporting upgrades or new system integrations. Maintain detailed records of operations, maintenance activities, and data collection logs for reporting purposes. Operate heavy machinery safely during tasks such as tanker filling or transportation of materials within the facility. Experience Proven experience operating wastewater treatment systems or water treatment facilities with a strong understanding of wastewater processes. Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing pumps, valves, motors, or other treatment equipment. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) used for automation and process control. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for chemical dosing, flow measurements, and data analysis. Strong analysis skills to interpret system data and troubleshoot operational issues effectively. Experience operating heavy equipment safely in construction or maintenance environments is preferred. Knowledge of plumbing systems, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols related to water treatment operations.
