Job Description

Overview Typical duties include, but are not limited to: operation and maintenance of water facilities and equipment within the village, repair and maintenance of water mains, tapping mains, setting water meters, repair and maintenance water pump systems, operate and maintain the vehicles and equipment used in daily operations. Salary and benefits will be based on qualifications and experience. For more information contac Duties Operate and monitor water treatment plants, wastewater facilities, and distribution systems to ensure optimal performance. Manage programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to regulate water processing operations efficiently. Conduct routine equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Collect, analyze, and record data related to water quality parameters, system pressures, flow rates, and chemical levels. Perform heavy equipment operation including tankers, pumps, valves, and construction machinery to support system upgrades or repairs. Assist with plumbing tasks such as pipe repairs, fittings installation, and system connections to maintain infrastructure integrity. Support waste management efforts by overseeing wastewater treatment processes in compliance with environmental regulations. Engage in heavy lifting activities and physical tasks necessary for system installation or maintenance projects. Document operational procedures, maintenance logs, and safety reports to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment. Proficiency in operating heavy machinery such as tankers and construction equipment safely and effectively. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) for automation control. Solid understanding of water treatment processes—including filtration, chemical dosing, and disinfection—as well as wastewater treatment methods. Basic math skills for calculations related to flow rates, chemical dosages, and system measurements. Analytical skills to interpret data trends, identify issues early, and implement solutions swiftly. Knowledge of plumbing techniques for system repairs or installations. Ability to perform physical tasks requiring heavy lifting and prolonged outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Strong maintenance skills for routine inspections, equipment repairs, and system upkeep. $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
