We are seeking a dedicated professional to oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of wastewater treatment facilities that protect public health and the environment. Plant Operations & Process Control Operate and monitor treatment processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and operating standards Perform routine testing, monitoring, inspections, and operational adjustments Track and document plant performance, daily flows, chemical usage, and operational data Maintain production wells, treatment systems, pumps, motors, valves, disinfection systems, and related equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting Diagnose and resolve operational and mechanical issues Respond to equipment failures, alarm conditions, and emergency call-outs Perform preventative maintenance on treatment and process equipment Support repairs involving instrumentation, controls, electrical components, sensing devices, pumps, and motors Facility Stewardship Ensure facilities remain secure, safe, and well maintained Maintain treatment plant grounds and work areas Coordinate and support maintenance activities as needed Customer & Client Support Communicate effectively with customers, clients, and team members Provide technical information related to facility operations Deliver exceptional service while representing the organization professionally What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Mississippi Class IV Wastewater Operator License High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 2 years of wastewater treatment experience Valid Driver's License Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions Preferred Qualifications Experience operating small to medium-sized wastewater treatment facilities Mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or process troubleshooting experience Experience with compliance reporting and process optimization Skills That Set You Apart Technical Expertise Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and equipment Experience operating pumps, motors, valves, belt presses, and disinfection systems Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical components Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized operating systems Leadership & Ownership Self-motivated and accountable Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment Communication & Teamwork Professional, customer-focused communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively across teams Maintains composure during emergencies and challenging situations Schedule Expectations This position requires flexibility to support critical utility operations, including: Day, evening, and weekend shifts Holiday coverage as needed Participation in a 24-hour emergency on-call rotation Emergency response during weather or operational events Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on role.
