Wastewater Treatment Plant 1A Operator

We are looking for a waste water treatment 1A operator that is responsible for operating and maintaining the waste water equipment and facilities to ensure water meets environmental standards . You will also be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional. This position will report to the Owner and will work to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain facilities and waste water treatment plant equipment. This is a full-time day shift position working M-F 7am to 4pm with weekend hours also required. Approximately 4 hours required on the weekend for proper monitoring of the waste water treatment plant. Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge. You must also possess manual dexterity and physical stamina. Potential for advancement and higher pay if applicant is interested in becoming NYS certified as a waste water treatment plant operator. Employer will pay for the required waste water treatment certification training. An additional pay increase will be given upon successfully passing the NYS exam and receiving your WWT certificate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Waste water treatment plant duties Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation) Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. emergency exit systems) Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues Install appliances and equipment Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light assemblies Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls, etc. Perform preventative maintenance Take care to clean up after maintenance is performed Report to owner for issues

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

Knowledge of waste water treatment plant operations Proven experience as maintenance mechanic Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems Experience using hand and electrical tools Ability to read technical manuals and drawings Very good communication and interpersonal skills Physical stamina and dexterity Must have a GED Must speak fluent English Since 1951, Brooks' House of Bar-B-Q has offered fantastic meals in a terrific family atmosphere at very reasonable prices with only the highest quality ingredients and phenomenal customer service.
