Job Summary :
Our USDA-inspected processing facility is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented sanitation supervisor to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant food production environment. Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the sanitation process within the plant. This role has the overall accountability of ensuring the applicable food safety and quality programs are fully implemented and documented to ensure USDA regulatory compliance and the production of safe products. Must provide leadership, guidance, training and improvement strategies to achieve company and department goals while adhering to compliance with USDA regulations and company policies. This role is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all production areas, equipment, and facilities using USDA-approved chemicals and procedures to support food safety, product quality, and plant operations. The position may require overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays based on production needs.
Overview:
Provides leadership and guidance to team members within the sanitation and food safety department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Manage daily activities, in-depth training and development of the team members. Manage and responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure and verify that all sanitation, food safety and quality programs are implemented, requirements met and appropriate documentation completed. Provide daily written reports to key stakeholders Use USDA- and company-approved chemicals to disinfect and sanitize surfaces, tools, and equipment Follow all HACCP, GMP, SSOP, OSHA, and USDA regulations and company sanitation procedures Identify and report potential contamination risks, equipment issues, or safety concerns to management immediately Properly handle, mix, and store sanitation chemicals according to safety guidelines Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times Assist with other processing, packaging, or plant tasks as needed Maintain accurate sanitation logs and documentation when required Communicate Programs to Floor Personnel, third party audits, regulatory, and customers. Perform Other Projects, Validations, or testing as needed Other Job Duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Working knowledge of sanitation and regulatory requirements, preferred.
- Ability to understand regulatory and SQF requirements, read SDS and labels.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and providing leadership.
- Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, noisy, and fast-paced environments
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, bend, lift, push, and pull (up to 50 lbs) and carry hoses through plant.
- Ability to work around raw pork products and processing equipment
Shift:
- Mon - Fri 3pm to 12:30
- Saturday - Sunday schedules based on production
