In Person Position Overview The North Sewickley Township Sewer & Water Authority is seeking a motivated, dependable, and hardworking individual to join our team as a Sewer & Water Authority Operator . This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of sewer collection and water distribution systems. The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure the reliable operation of critical public utility infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in building a long-term career in the water and wastewater industry. Training will be provided, and required certifications must be obtained within one year of hire. Minimum Qualifications Valid driver's license required Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Ability to work effectively in both team and independent environments Ability to perform physical labor in various weather conditions Obtain a Class E Wastewater Collection System Operator License within one year of hire Obtain an E Water Distribution System Operator License within one year of hire Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSewer Authority Operations Daily Pump Station Maintenance Test generators Inspect and monitor pumps Clean wet wells Clean trash baskets Clean valve pits Perform station grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and weed control Maintain accurate operational records and documentation Collection System Maintenance Respond to PA One Calls (routine and emergency) Perform preventative maintenance inspections Complete work orders Conduct home lateral inspections and dye testing Emergency & Construction Activities Sewer line and pump station repairs Grinder pump service calls Manhole rehabilitation CCTV inspection of sewer mains to identify infiltration and inflow (I&I) issues and support system improvements Water Authority Operations In addition to sewer system responsibilities, operators are responsible for: Weekly water sampling Water main break repairs Installation of water meters Installation of meter pits Water service taps Leak detection using data loggers and related equipment Preferred Qualifications The following skills and experience are preferred but not required: General mechanical, electrical, or pipefitting experience Excavator, skid steer, and dump truck operation Experience maneuvering trucks, trailers, and equipment Familiarity with basic hand tools Utility construction or maintenance experience Benefits Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Retirement Plan Paid Time Off (PTO) Why Join Our Team?
