Job Description
Wastewater Collection System Operator-In-Training The Jackson/East Taylor Sewer Authority is actively seeking a full-time Wastewater Collection System Operator-In-Training. A Wastewater Systems Operator-In-Training is responsible to perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the wastewater collection system and pumping facilities under supervision of a licensed Wastewater Collection System Operator. Applicants must have the ability to learn system operation, work safely, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, have the ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions), operate motorized vehicles, various tools, testing equipment, and working knowledge of computers. The position requires heavy lifting, good eyesight, and color perception, bending, stretching, use of a shovel, and standing. Successful applicants must have a High School diploma or equivalency, Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License, ability to obtain a Pennsylvania Wastewater Collections License, successfully complete a background check, and work outside of typical business hours when required to do so including nights, weekends, and holidays, and periodically be available by cell phone, and able to work when directed to be "on-call" by the Authority. Hourly wage commensurate with experience.
