3rd Sanitation Supervisor (8PM-4AM) york, PA 17404 Apply Overview Job Shift Graveyard Apply Description Assists the Sanitation Manager to help manage the plant sanitation programs to ensure proper sanitation of all food processing equipment is completed in accordance with government rules and regulations and Company standards. Ability to adhere to universal responsibilities and actions of a management position. Supervises the activities of the sanitation department including the cleaning and sanitizing of processing equipment, general housekeeping, the disposal of waste materials and cleanup of the grounds outside the plant. Works with the Sanitation Manager to help monitor SSOP's, Pre-Op Inspections and Environmental Sampling Programs; takes corrective action when warranted. Helps with the controllable costs of sanitation labor, temporary labor, operating supplies, and cleaning chemicals, while driving sanitation standard improvements. Reports any unusual conditions to the Sanitation Manager and other members of management, whether mechanical, personnel or sanitary conditions. Responsible for ensuring the following safety requirements are met: Conducting safety orientation and safety training of employees Enforcing safe work practices Correcting unsafe conditions Preventing lingering unsafe and unhealthful workplace conditions or hazards Investigating workplace accidents Recommends to the Sanitation Manager the disciplinary actions of Sanitation employees who fail to meet standards or who violate Company rules or regulations. Through sanitation procedures and inspections, provides necessary safety and hygiene recommendations to the Sanitation Manager in order to keep the plant and equipment in safe operating condition. In the absence of the Sanitation Manager, processes weekly time and attendance, temporary timecards in accordance with plant procedures in order to provide payroll and attendance information to the Personnel Department. Ensures all sanitation documents; master sanitation schedules and daily cleaning checklists are being filled out correctly and maintained for audit purposes. Demonstrates and practices excellent communication skills with employees in all departments including supervisors and/or managers. Ensures that all plant support areas are cleaned on a scheduled basis. Ensures the entire facility is always in an audit-ready status for any third-party audits or regulatory inspections. Responsible for adhering to food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP's, HACCP, food safety, product quality, food security, governmental guidelines, etc. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Sanitation Manager and other special assignments as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager, Maintenance Manager and/or Production Managers. Qualifications 2-4 years' experience in Sanitation and/or related experience Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and cleaning procedures Understanding of processing, packaging, and material handling equipment Excellent communication skills The ability to attend work predictably and regularly and to be punctual. The ability to read and understand documents, drawings, and instructions (whether presented in written, oral, diagram or schedule form). The ability to work with mathematical concepts and to apply concepts to practical situations. The ability to work cooperatively with others. The ability to deal politely and professionally with customers and coworkers. The ability to perform several tasks at once. The ability to follow direction or instruction.
