Job Description
Key Responsibilities Operate and oversee daily wastewater treatment plant operations to ensure compliance with TCEQ permits and regulatory requirements. Assist with plant startup, commissioning, optimization, and ongoing operations. Monitor treatment processes and operational data, identifying trends and taking corrective action when necessary. Perform and maintain accurate sampling, laboratory testing, DMRs, operational logs, reports, and documentation. Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and process equipment. Respond to alarms, plant upsets, equipment failures, and emergency situations. Prepare for and participate in TCEQ inspections, audits, and regulatory reviews. Enforce safety procedures, including confined space entry, lockout/tagout, and site-specific safety plans. Communicate effectively with municipal clients, regulators, management, and internal team members. Lead and supervise plant personnel when assigned, including training and mentoring operators. Assist in developing operational procedures and supporting new facility startups. Minimum Qualifications Current Texas Wastewater Operator License - Class C or higher required. Direct experience operating wastewater treatment plants. Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and TCEQ regulatory compliance. Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions. Ability to respond to operational emergencies and after-hours callouts. Valid Texas driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Preferred Qualifications Texas Class B or Class A Wastewater Operator License. Experience serving as a Lead Operator, Responsible Charge Operator (RCO), or Chief Operator. Experience operating municipal or contract wastewater treatment facilities. Plant startup, commissioning, and optimization experience. Familiarity with SCADA systems and process controls. Previous supervisory or leadership experience. Work Schedule Monday through Friday Participation in an on-call rotation is required based on plant and project needs. Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required to respond to emergencies, startups, or operational demands.
