Utility Technician II - Allison Wastewater Plant City of Corpus Christi - 3.5 Corpus Christi, TX Job Details Full-time $17.80 - $29.17 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Certified Wastewater Treatment Operator Driver's License Full Job Description Overview The Utility Technicians are responsible for the maintenance and operation of the six (6) Wastewater Treatment Plants and the City's lift stations. These positions are also responsible for the maintenance and operation of the wastewater collection lines. Employees must remain in compliance with TCEQ and other applicable laws and regulations while working within the scope of their position. Responsibilities
  • Performs intermediate to advanced level process control measurements, testing of DO, pH, residual analysis meters, iar tests, sludge quality tests, and aqueous and atmospheric sulfide levels
  • Assists in identifying maintenance needs and developing preventive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and performance
  • Conducts root cause analyses of equipment failures, evaluates findings, and recommends corrective actions to enhance operational efficiency
  • Prepares purchasing and minor construction contracts in direct support of maintenance and operations
  • Exercises expert application of TCEQ regulations
  • Assumes command of control room in the absence of the lead operator
  • Directs the activation of remotely operated processes
  • Reviews water analysis results and recognize MCL's and potentials to exceed
  • Serves as technical subject matter expert for SCADA, l&E, and Maintenance teams
  • May perform other duties as assigned Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
  • Non-Exempt - Full-Time - 40-hour work week
  • Must be available to work additional hours as needed
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • One (1) year of experience Licenses and Certifications Required
  • A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hiring. Required within six (6) months of hire
  • TCEQ Class D Wastewater Treatment License Employment Testing Employment is contingent on passing any post-offer pre-employment screening as listed below:
