29 A Lakehaven Wastewater Operations Maintenance Technician performs and/or assists with minor and major maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment and construction of supporting structures used in the wastewater treatment plants operated by the District. Experience operating heavy equipment is highly desired. Wastewater Ops Maintenance Technicians also work closely with Wastewater Operators and learn basic operator tasks. Position placement and pay is dependent upon experience and qualifications. As a Lakehaven Wastewater Operations Maintenance Technician , you will be part of a team that has been recognized by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies for its environmental stewardship and has been a long-standing member of the American Water Works Association. Lakehaven has a service area population of over 135,000 people living across a 35 square mile area in south King County, makings us the second largest special-purpose water and sewer district in the state. Lakehaven has two wastewater treatment plants, 35 sewer lift stations, and 350 miles of sewer mains capable of collecting and treating up to 15.6 MGD. Our employees work hard to produce and treat high quality drinking water and to ensure treated wastewater adheres to EPA standards which safeguards the local ecological system of Puget Sound. The successful candidate should have some of the following: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience in related equipment and/or facility maintenance preferred. A valid Washington State "Cross-Connection Control Specialist (CCS)" certification, desired but not required. Any certifications or licenses applicable to the utility; i.e. CPR/First Aid Training, Certified Flagging, Confined Space Entry, etc. must be obtained within one (1) year of initial employment. A valid Washington State Competency certificate "Group I
  • OIT" as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator must be obtained within one (1) year from initial employment.
ABC Board of Examination Maintenance Technician 1 certification within two (2) years of hiring. Commercial Driver's License desired but not required at time of hire.
