Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality welding and fabrication tasks across various projects, ensuring all work aligns with industry standards and safety protocols. Responsibilities Interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately guide fabrication and welding processes. Perform a variety of welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) to join diverse metal materials. Measure and mark materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure accurate cuts and welds. Operate power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently. Fabricate metal components for structures such as ductwork, piping systems, sheet metal assemblies, and mechanical parts following ASME codes & standards. Use mechanical blueprint interpretation skills to assemble parts correctly while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, inspecting welds for quality assurance, and documenting work progress thoroughly. Requirements Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols. Certification or demonstrated proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Ability to read mechanical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret engineering specifications accurately. Skilled in the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise fabrication work. Mechanical knowledge of pipe threading, soldering, machining, plasma cutting, press brake operation, and sheet metal fabrication. Experience working with various metal materials including steel, aluminum, and sheet metal in a fabrication shop or manufacturing environment. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or piping systems is preferred but not required. Strong hand tool proficiency along with the ability to operate power tools safely.
