Construction Welder

South Central Equipment is looking for a talented welder to join our team for both in-field and in-shop needs. Our ideal new hire will be a hard worker who likes meeting challenges, has common sense and is very reliable. Applicants must have a valid driver's license to be able to work both inside the shop and out in the field on general construction and pile driving projects.

Responsibilities:

Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts. Weld small and large components such as copper plumbing, beams, and pipe. Use specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee equipment. Maintain and repair all machinery. Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors. Follow and enforce safety regulations, such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes. Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature. Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Minimum 3 years experience in a welding or fabrication-related role. A valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution is preferred, particularly a 6G welding certificate. Excellent knowledge of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs.

Compensation:

$25-35/hour, based on experience and determined on hire.
