We are currently seeking:
Welder/Technician The Welder Technician will perform high-quality welding on construction projects, including structural steel, piping, and heavy infrastructure, adhering to
AWS/ASME
codes and strict safety standards. This role also involves physical labor tasks, such as fence or barrier installation, depending on crew assignments. As a vital part of our construction team, you'll contribute to impactful projects while upholding craftsmanship and safety. Responsibilities Perform welding operations using SMAW, MIG, TIG, and/or FCAW processes as required. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols. Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components according to specifications. Ensure welds meet quality standards and pass required inspections, including
AWS D1.1
standards. Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times. Comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent hazards. Participate in safety meetings and report unsafe conditions. Conduct visual inspections of welds and perform necessary repairs. Work with quality assurance personnel to ensure compliance with welding codes (e.g., AWS, ASME). Maintain welding logs and documentation as required. Assist in preparing materials for third-party inspections and testing. Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on welding machines. Report equipment malfunctions and request repairs or replacements. Coordinate with foremen, engineers, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow. Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials for welding. Communicates with and takes direction from assigned Project/Crew management Uses project prints, drawings and design layouts to install of perimeter security components. Prepares layout area where construction will take place by using string levels, measuring tape, surveyor laser Level, etc. for measuring, marking, or recording openings or distances. Serves as task lead as assigned and directed by crew superintendent or foreman. Assists in teaching and training other crew labor as directed and necessary. Crosstrain into other scopes of work as needed. Cooperates with other team members. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required Skills/Abilities:
Willingness and ability to travel 100% of the time. Valid welding certification from AWS (e.g., AWS D1.1 or equivalent) required or is obtainable within a specified timeframe.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1-3 years of welding experience in construction or industrial settings. Proficiency in multiple welding techniques and processes. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and in various weather conditions. Forklift or aerial lift certification (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather. Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at times. Outdoor and indoor construction environments. Exposure to heat, noise, and potentially hazardous materials. May require overtime, weekend, or night shifts depending on project needs. Must be able to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
