Cylinder Evaluator Department:

Non-Exempt Position Overview:
The Cylinder Evaluator will measure all cylinder components using appropriate measuring tools. The Evaluator will inspect all components for damage and/or tolerance issues and determine the most appropriate way to repair. The Evaluator will create the B.O.M. for everything needed to repair cylinder including all seals, fasteners and raw materials. The ideal candidate will be able to make an independent judgment concerning repairs with emphasis on providing the best and most cost-effective repairs and repair processes for both the customer and company.
Essential Duties:
(Additional duties may be assigned as required.) Operate material handling equipment to move components and skid as required. Gather all parts of the cylinder to be inspected. Review drawings and job standard folder, if attached and/or applicable. Measure all components using appropriate measuring tools. Determine the best and most cost-effective way to repair a cylinder(s). Create B.O.M. for all items needed to repair cylinder. Verify that all components are clearly marked with job number and place on pallet and put in review area.
Requirements:
Ability to read blueprints Knowledge of how seals hold pressure and able to assemble cylinders, dry test, and check dimensions Knowledge of hydraulic and/or pneumatic cylinders and components is a plus. Mechanically inclined
Qualifications:

Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to wear safety glasses and hard sole/close toed shoes with a low heel when walking through the manufacturing shop and/or repair shop whether as part of performing their job or just passing through. In addition, long hair must be tied back when around hazards of flame, machinery, or equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
