Perform hot‑air, extrusion, and fusion welding on tanks, piping, ductwork, and custom industrial plastic components. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to produce accurate fabricated parts. Inspect welds and finished assemblies for accuracy, strength, and compliance with quality standards. Maintain welding tools, plastic welding equipment, and fabrication machinery in good working condition. Fit, align, and assemble welded components into complete systems and subassemblies. Use measuring tools such as tape measures to verify dimensions and tolerances during fabrication and assembly. Handle sheet metal and stainless steel components as needed in support of fabrication work. Work effectively in a shop environment, contributing to a clean, organized, and efficient workspace. Essential Skills At least 2 years of MIG welding experience in a fabrication, industrial, or manufacturing environment. Proficiency in MIG welding on materials such as sheet metal and stainless steel. Ability to read and interpret blueprints or a strong willingness and aptitude to learn blueprint reading. Strong mechanical aptitude with careful attention to detail in cutting, fitting, and welding operations. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in a shop environment. Experience using common fabrication tools and measuring devices, including tape measures. High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications Welding certifications in MIG, FCAW, or similar processes. Experience in fabrication, pipefitting, or industrial assembly. Interest in long‑term skill development in plastics welding and specialty fabrication. Familiarity with CNC cutting, machining, or thermoforming processes (not required but beneficial). Experience working in a manufacturing or job shop setting using MIG welding. Comfort working with plastic materials in addition to metals. Why Work Here? You will join a stable team with a strong, supportive work culture and low turnover, where safety, quality, and continuous learning are valued. The role offers competitive compensation, benefits, and regular overtime opportunities, providing the chance to increase earnings. You will have clear opportunities for growth as you develop a specialized skill set in plastic welding and fabrication, supported by comprehensive on‑the‑job training and long‑term career development. Work Environment This position is based in a non‑climate‑controlled shop environment that supports industrial fabrication and welding activities. You will work around welding equipment, plastic welding tools such as hot‑air and extrusion welders, and general fabrication machinery, including cutting and measuring tools. The work involves standing for extended periods, handling materials, and performing physically active tasks in a production setting.
