Job Title:
Welder Job Description This role involves performing MIG welding in a manufacturing environment to produce high-quality fabricated components that meet precise specifications and safety standards. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on a variety of metal components in a manufacturing environment. Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications, dimensions, and weld symbols. Measure materials accurately using a tape measure to ensure correct cuts, fits, and alignment before welding. Set up, operate, and maintain MIG welding equipment and related tools according to established procedures. Use flux core welding techniques when required by project specifications. Fabricate and assemble metal structures and parts based on blueprints and work instructions. Inspect welds visually and with basic tools to verify quality, strength, and adherence to specifications. Follow safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment while performing all welding tasks. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient and safe operations. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects on time and resolve any issues related to weld quality or fit. Essential Skills Proven MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or similar environment, or completion of a welding school/program. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols accurately. Proficiency in MIG welding techniques, including setup, operation, and basic maintenance of welding equipment. Experience with flux core welding processes as needed for specific applications. Strong blueprint reading skills to ensure correct fabrication and assembly. Ability to use a tape measure accurately for precise measuring and layout. Solid understanding of basic fabrication practices and metalworking processes. Attention to detail to produce clean, structurally sound welds that meet specifications. Commitment to following safety procedures and using appropriate protective equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Formal training or certification from a welding school or technical program. Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment. Ability to work from written instructions, drawings, and verbal directions. Strong problem-solving skills to address fit-up, distortion, or weld quality issues. The setting may include moderate noise, heat from welding operations, and standard industrial conditions. Appropriate protective equipment is provided and required, including welding helmets, gloves, and other safety gear, to ensure a safe and professional work environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsview, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
