The Boat Welder Fabricator is responsible for welding, fitting, fabricating, and assembling aluminum boat components according to Weld-Craft Manufacturing standards, customer build specifications, quality control requirements, and production schedules. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and must support safe, accurate, efficient, and high-quality aluminum boat production. We are looking for a dependable, motivated individual with experience in aluminum welding, fabrication, boat manufacturing, marine fabrication, trailer fabrication, or related metal shop work. The ideal candidate must be able to follow work instructions, read a tape measure accurately, work safely around welding and fabrication equipment, and help reduce rework, scrap, wasted labor, and production delays. Compensation will be based on experience, skill level, and qualifications. Applicants should include any direct aluminum boat manufacturing, aluminum MIG welding, marine fabrication, forklift, bend press, saw, plasma-cut parts, jig, fixture, or production welding experience that may not be listed on their resume. Requirements Must have experience in welding, fabrication, aluminum boat manufacturing, marine fabrication, trailer fabrication, metal fabrication, or a similar shop environment. Must be able to read and use a tape measure accurately. Must possess basic reading, writing, and math skills for measurements, work orders, drawings, and build sheets. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions, shop drawings, production notes, and quality requirements. Must be able to work safely around welding equipment, saws, bend press equipment, hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and material handling equipment. Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to work overtime when production requires it. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, bend, reach, stand, and work in a manufacturing/shop environment throughout the workday. Preferred Experience Direct experience welding and fabricating aluminum boats or marine aluminum products. Experience with MIG aluminum welding and related aluminum welding techniques. Experience with bend press/brake press support, saws, cutting shear, plasma-cut parts, jigs, fixtures, and formed aluminum components. Forklift operating experience or ability to be trained and authorized by the company. Ability to read basic shop drawings, custom build sheets, layout marks, templates, and part numbers. Experience working under production schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards. Ability to assist with minor fit-up troubleshooting and recommend practical improvements. Job Duties Perform aluminum welding, tack welding, spot welding, fit-up, and fabrication work according to drawings, templates, build sheets, and production standards. Weld boat components including hull parts, ribs, braces, floors, decks, transoms, brackets, supports, rails, and other structural or accessory parts. Prepare materials and parts for welding by cleaning, grinding, deburring, fitting, clamping, bracing, and aligning parts. Verify proper fit, alignment, measurement, and placement before final welding to reduce defects and rework. Use correct welding techniques, settings, filler materials, and procedures for aluminum boat manufacturing. Work with and around bend press/brake press equipment, rib press, cutting shears, saws, welding machines, grinders, clamps, hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and other fabrication equipment. Assist with bending, forming, sawing, drilling, cutting, trimming, and preparing aluminum parts for boat assembly. Operate a forklift when trained, authorized, and required for material handling, staging, loading, unloading, and moving aluminum materials or finished assemblies. Follow Weld-Craft quality control SOPs, inspection checkpoints, build specifications, and customer order requirements. Inspect own work before moving parts or assemblies to the next production stage. Identify and report defects, nonconforming parts, poor fit-up, material issues, wrong parts, or process failures. Participate in corrective action efforts to reduce repeat defects, rework, scrap, and warranty risk. Safety Expectations Follow all company safety policies, OSHA-aligned shop safety practices, welding safety procedures, forklift safety requirements, and PPE rules. Wear required PPE including welding helmet, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, proper clothing, and respiratory protection when required. Use proper lifting, rigging, forklift, material handling, machine guarding, and hot-work safety practices. Keep work area clean and free of trip hazards, scrap buildup, fire hazards, and unsafe material stacking. Report injuries, near misses, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, equipment damage, and fire risks immediately to the Operations Manager.

$19.00 - $28.00 per hour
