Overview Join our dynamic fabrication team as a Welder/Fabricator and become a vital part of constructing high-quality metal structures and components. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing advanced welding techniques and fabrication skills to bring designs to life. You will operate various tools and equipment, interpret technical drawings, and adhere to strict safety standards, all while contributing to the creation of durable, precision-engineered metal products. Responsibilities Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly and welding. Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes. Fabricate metal components by cutting, shaping, bending, and assembling sheet metal and other metal materials using plasma cutters, power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment. Measure materials precisely with calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and rigging tools to meet exact specifications. Operate forklifts, rigging gear, pipe threading machines, and other machinery safely within construction or fabrication shop environments. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols during all operations, including proper handling of gas metals for welding and ensuring a safe working environment. Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into final products or structures while ensuring quality control through inspection of welds and measurements. Experience Proven construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety procedures and site logistics. Hands-on fabrication shop experience involving metal fabrication, sheet metal work, pipe threading, machining, and assembly processes. Skilled in interpreting mechanical blueprints and technical drawings with proficiency in shop math for precise measurements. Demonstrated ability to operate welding equipment such as
MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW
welders along with measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers. Familiarity with ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or piping is a plus. Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes including plasma cutting, soldering, gas metal arc welding, and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Experience working with various hand tools and power tools safely in manufacturing or construction environments. Ability to work effectively on construction sites or within fabrication shops while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
