Job Description

As an Experienced Welder at Iron-Vac Trucks, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating steel tanks, truck bodies, and components used on custom septic and vacuum trucks. This role is hands-on and fabrication-focused, involving structural welding, fitting, assembly, and working from fabrication drawings to build high-quality equipment that is shipped across the country. This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys working with steel, takes pride in clean, consistent welds, and values craftsmanship that becomes part of real-world equipment. We are looking for a skilled welder who can work efficiently, maintain quality standards, and contribute to a team-focused manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Weld steel tanks, frames, brackets, and truck-mounted components Perform MIG welding on carbon and mild steel materials Fit, tack, and weld parts according to fabrication drawings and build specifications Fabricate and assemble truck bodies, tanks, and structural components Grind, finish, and prepare welds for final assembly and installation Inspect welds and completed assemblies for quality and accuracy Assist with tank fabrication, mounting systems, and structural supports Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas Follow shop safety procedures and manufacturing standards Work closely with fabricators, assemblers, and production leads to meet build schedules
Qualifications:
Required:
Previous welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment Strong welding skills Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints Experience using fabrication tools and shop equipment safely Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical work throughout the day Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
Preferred:
Experience fabricating tanks, truck bodies, trailers, or heavy equipment Experience fitting and assembling structural steel components Experience working in truck manufacturing or heavy equipment industries Basic mechanical or assembly experience
