$23/hr Chandler, AZ Job Description This role focuses on performing high-quality MIG and Stick welding on steel components while accurately interpreting blueprints and weld symbols. You will work with a range of steel thicknesses and contribute to the fabrication of specialized products used in pavement preservation and related applications. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to determine welding requirements and ensure accurate fabrication. Perform MIG welding on steel materials ranging from 20-gauge sheet to 5/8-inch thickness, producing clean and structurally sound welds. Perform Stick welding on steel components as required by production specifications. Set up MIG welding equipment after it has been zeroed out, including adjusting settings to match material type and thickness. Complete and pass a basic flat MIG welding test to demonstrate welding proficiency and consistency. Measure and verify dimensions using a tape measure to ensure parts meet specified tolerances. Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area. Collaborate with other team members and support cross-training efforts in additional departments and trades as needed. Essential Skills Proficiency in MIG welding on steel, including flat welding on materials from 20-gauge to 5/8-inch thickness. Experience with Stick welding on steel components. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols accurately. Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements. Capability to set up MIG welding machines after they are zeroed out. Entry-level candidates with formal welding schooling or training are acceptable, provided they can demonstrate core welding competencies. Additional Skills & Qualifications Formal education or vocational training in welding or a related technical field. Interest in cross-training and learning multiple trades within a manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds. Work Environment This position is based in a modern manufacturing facility that produces a wide range of pavement preservation products for asphalt and concrete, including hot-applied crack sealants, silicone joint sealants, hot-applied mastics, and cold-mix materials for pavement patching and repair. The organization is unique in that it manufactures both these products and the equipment used to apply them. Additional products include silicone materials, geocomposites, and other pavement preservation materials and equipment. The company also designs and manufactures equipment such as melter/applicators for heating and placing sealants and fillers, crack preparation equipment, spray injection patching equipment for repairing potholes and voids, patchers for applying hot-applied mastics, and sealcoat applicators. You will work around industrial welding and fabrication equipment in a production environment, following standard safety practices and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. The facility emphasizes domestic manufacturing, with multiple locations across the United States and a strong focus on quality and reliability. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chandler, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
