Job Description

We are seeking experienced Structural Welders and Fitters to join our fabrication team. This is a production-focused position working with heavy structural steel. Candidates must have proven experience welding wide flange beams and heavy plate using GMAW (MIG) welding procedures.
Please Note:
We are not hiring entry-level welders or candidates whose experience is limited to automotive, equipment repair, TIG welding, or stick welding. This position requires previous structural steel fabrication experience. Current Openings 2nd Shift (Primary Need) Limited 1st Shift opportunities are available for highly qualified candidates.   • 2:00 AM Essential Responsibilities Perform structural welding on wide flange beams, columns, and heavy plate assemblies.
Complete high-quality fillet welds, multi-pass fillet welds, partial joint penetration (PJP), and complete joint penetration (CJP) welds using GMAW (MIG) processes. Read and interpret structural blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings. Operate overhead cranes to safely move steel beams, plates, and fabricated assemblies. Properly rig structural steel using chains, grabs, slings, and lifting devices. Set up and operate welding equipment while maintaining weld quality and productivity. Load welding wire spools and perform routine equipment setup. Clean welds using needle guns and other finishing tools. Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and structural requirements. Follow all safety procedures while maintaining a clean work area. Required Qualifications Minimum 2+ years of structural steel welding or fitting experience preferred. Experience welding wide flange beams, heavy plate, and structural steel components. Proficient in GMAW (MIG) welding.
Experience performing:
Fillet welds Multi-pass fillet welds Partial Joint Penetration (PJP) welds Complete Joint Penetration (CJP) welds Ability to read and interpret structural blueprints and weld symbols. Experience operating overhead cranes or willingness to learn. High school diploma or GED preferred. Welding certifications are a plus. Must successfully pass a structural welding test prior to employment.
