Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and craftsmanship. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of high-quality structures and products, ensuring they meet strict safety and quality standards. This position assists skilled welders in all phases of their work by preparing materials, joining and repair of metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about metalwork, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities Assisting in the setup of welding equipment and workstations. Collaborate with the wider manufacturing team to ensure that timelines are met. Performance maintenance on welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition. Follow safety protocols and procedures to prevent injury and maintain a safe working environment. Supporting the welder in the preparation of materials for welding, including measuring and cutting materials as required and grinding. Keeping the work area clean and organized to ensure a safe working environment. Handling of tools and materials as directed by the welder. Helping with the maintenance and repair of welding equipment. Observing all safety regulations while operating equipment or in the vicinity of hot work. Performing inspections of welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws. Assisting in the transport and positioning of heavy components using cranes, hoists or by hand as required. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area. Operate power and hand tools as directed. Follow safety protocols and workplace policies. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements. Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement instruments to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks Knowledge of safety standards including ASME codes & standards for welding and fabrication processes.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Previous experience as a Welder Helper or similar role is preferred. Basic knowledge of welding tools and equipment. Good physical condition and stamina. Excellent attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow instructions and safety regulations. Able to operate a grinder. Ability to read a tape measure.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. 2 years of experience of Welder Helper (General Laborer).
Pay:
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
