In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling water trucks, fire tenders and other truck bodies . Your expertise will contribute to the creation of high-quality truck fabrication. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects in a fast-paced environment where craftsmanship and attention to detail are highly valued. Responsibilities Collaborate with team members to fabricate and design water trucks and fire tenders Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to measure, cut, shape, and assemble metal materials. Operate plasma cutters, saws, drills, and other fabrication equipment to cut and prepare sheet metal and other metal materials for assembly. Fabricate structural elements by welding and assembling sheet metal, structural steel, and other metal components on construction sites or in the shop environment. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols during all phases of fabrication and welding activities. Collaborate with team members to interpret technical drawings accurately and ensure precise assembly following ASME codes & standards. Requirements Proven experience with a strong understanding of mechanical fabrication processes. Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and mechanical blueprints confidently. Experience with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other precision tools. Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication . Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations and construction environments is essential. Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to operate power tools safely and effectively. Strong shop math skills for measurements and calculations necessary for fabrication tasks. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high-quality standards.
