Work is fast-paced and project-driven, with close collaboration between fabrication, engineering, and quality teams. Applicants can expect exposure to advanced fabrication techniques, modern equipment, and diverse customer requirements across multiple high-tech sectors. Role Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Plastic Fabricator who can work as an independent operator, taking a job from drawing to finished part with minimal supervision. This person will lead high-precision fabrication work, bring strong plastic bending and welding skills, hold our parts to strict tolerance and finish standards, and mentor junior fabricators on the shop floor.
Job Duties:
- Read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders
- Cut, shape, heat, bend, and bond plastics using saws, routers, strip heaters, or ovens
- Perform specialized plastic welding such as hot-air, extrusion, or solvent bonding
- Produce high-precision parts and assemblies to medical device and semiconductor tolerances
- Inspect and QC your own parts using precision measurement tools like calipers and micrometers to confirm they meet spec before they leave your station
- Sand, buff, polish, and finish surfaces to meet strict client standards
- Train, mentor, and oversee junior fabricators in daily shop tasks
- Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety rules
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Three or more years of hands-on shop experience in custom plastic fabrication
- Demonstrated experience with precision plastic bending and welding (hot-air, extrusion, or solvent bonding)
- Experience fabricating to tight tolerances, ideally for medical device, semiconductor, or other high-precision industries
- Able to QC your own work and read precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Proven ability to work as an independent operator, managing your own workflow and priorities with minimal supervision
- Strong knowledge of plastic types and material reactions to heat and chemicals
- Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and shop machinery
- Ability to read blueprints and use advanced shop math
