TIG Welder Up to $48/hr Job Description This role focuses on high-precision TIG (GTAW) welding on Inconel 625 and 718 components, including both thin-wall and thick-wall materials. You will perform positioner and turntable welding with argon purge systems to produce flawless, X-ray quality welds in 1G and 2G positions. Responsibilities Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on Inconel 625 and 718 components to produce 100% penetration, X-ray quality welds. Weld thin-wall materials ranging from approximately 0.011" to 0.040" with a high degree of accuracy and consistency. Weld thick-wall materials ranging from approximately 0.060" to 0.125" while maintaining structural integrity and high-quality finishes. Use turntable and positioner equipment to perform precision welds on a variety of part geometries. Operate and manage argon purge systems to ensure proper shielding and weld quality on exotic metals. Work in 1G and 2G welding positions, adjusting techniques to meet exacting quality and performance standards. Inspect welds visually and with measurement tools to verify quality, penetration, and adherence to specifications. Follow established welding procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards throughout all work. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve welding issues and optimize processes. Maintain a clean, organized work area and properly care for welding tools, equipment, and materials. Essential Skills Several years of TIG (GTAW) welding experience on Inconel or similar exotic metals. Proven ability to produce 100% penetration, flawless, X-ray quality welds. Hands-on experience welding Inconel 625 and/or 718. Proficiency welding thin-wall materials in the 0.011"-0.040" range. Proficiency welding thick-wall materials in the 0.060"-0.125" range. Experience using turntables and positioners for precision welding. Hands-on use of argon purge systems for welding exotic metals. Ability to weld in 1G and 2G positions with consistent quality. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with exotic metals beyond Inconel. Ability to interpret basic weld requirements and adapt techniques to meet them. Strong problem-solving skills related to weld quality and fit-up. Effective communication and teamwork skills in a production or fabrication environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Beach, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $48.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
