Description:
The Welding Technician I is an entry-level position responsible for performing basic welding tasks and assisting more experienced technicians. This role involves learning and applying welding techniques to fabricate and repair metal structures and components. Key Responsibilities Perform basic welding tasks using MIG, TIG, and arc welding equipment. Assist in the preparation and set-up of welding equipment. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment. Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy. Assist with the maintenance and repair of welding equipment. Read and interpret basic blueprints and technical drawings. Collaborate with team members to ensure project completion. Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills.
Requirements:
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of welding processes and techniques. Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints and technical drawings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Ability to work in a team environment. Willingness to learn and take direction from senior technicians. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Capable of standing for extended periods. Exposure to noise, dust, and fumes typical of a welding environment.
