SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
Design, fabricate, and repair components for pressure vessels utilized in industrial machinery. This involves creating detailed layouts and ensuring precision in construction. The role encompasses all aspects of the fabrication process, from initial planning and material selection to assembly and quality control, ensuring that all components meet industry standards and specifications for safety and performance.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follow blueprints, specifications, diagrams, and schematics to build pressure vessels. Prepare material for fabrication. Measure, cut, plasma cut, saw, grind, and weld various materials, such as, steel plate, steel pipe and pipe fitting. Perform pressure vessel welding according to ASME code and ASC's approved ASME weld procedures to be inspected and certified. Use of industrial machinery and tools. Travel to customer sites, as required.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATIONAL, AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Preference for experienced stick welders, but we also welcome entry-level candidates with relevant schooling. Must be able to pass an ASME 6G Stick Weld test provided by ASC is required. Experience with MIG, TIG, and carbon arc welding is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Regular use of various hand-held and motorized tools/machinery is necessary. Ability to stand for extended periods is common. Normal hearing and vision are important. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Good manual dexterity is required. Forklift and crane experience is necessary. A valid driver's license is required, and candidates must be able to pass a background check.
