Food-Grade pipe welder Job Description This role focuses on sanitary welding and fabrication in a food processing facility, working primarily with stainless steel. You will perform a wide range of welding, cutting, and metalworking tasks, from reading blueprints and preparing parts to operating various tools and equipment to support maintenance and repair activities. Responsibilities Perform sanitary welding in a food processing facility, ensuring all welds meet cleanliness and quality standards. Weld stainless steel using MIG, TIG, and arc welding processes to fabricate, modify, and repair equipment and structures. Prepare parts for welding by measuring, cutting, fitting, and cleaning materials to ensure proper alignment and fit. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine job requirements and fabrication details. Set up and operate metalworking tools such as saws, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment to make and repair parts. Use hand tools, including drills, grinders, and mechanics' tools such as wrenches, to assemble, adjust, and maintain equipment. Experience performing sanitary welding in a food processing facility. Proficiency in welding stainless steel using MIG, TIG, and arc welding processes. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Skill in plasma cutting and arc welding. Experience with sanitary pipe welding techniques Ability to set up and operate saws, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools. Proficiency in using hand tools, including drills, grinders, and mechanics' tools such as wrenches. Ability to use acetylene torches and plasma cutters safely and effectively. General maintenance experience supporting fabrication and repair work. Orbital TIG welding in food processing Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shafter, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
