$34-42 an hour Per diem: $140 in daily per diem
Job Description:
Perform welding processes on aluminum and steel parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys. Determine layouts and weld parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications. Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. As a Structural Welder & Fabricator , you'll work in a high-output modular fabrication shop producing critical components for submarines and aircraft carriers. This role demands precision, skill, and a commitment to excellence in structural welding and steel fabrication. 🧰 Key Responsibilities Perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) on high-grade steel components Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and layout drawings Fit, align, and tack weld steel structures with precision Use grinders, torches, and measuring tools to prepare and finish welds Weld in 2G (horizontal), 3G (vertical), and 4G (overhead) positions Work in confined spaces , on elevated platforms , and in varied environments Collaborate with engineers and inspectors to meet military-grade specifications Follow strict safety protocols and contribute to a culture of quality and accountability πŸ§ͺ Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in SMAW and FCAW welding Ability to pass military-spec welding assessments High school diploma or equivalent preferred Physically able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces Willingness to work multiple shifts in a 24/7 production environment πŸš€ Why Join Huntington Ingalls?
