TIG Welders Duties:

Perform manual GTAW on [stainless / carbon / alloy] pipe, tube, and sheet per approved AEP Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) and ASME Section IX. Set up and verify inert gas purge / backing for stainless root passes; confirm purge quality before root deposition. Control heat input, interpass temperature, and filler addition to avoid distortion, oxidation, and sensitization on stainless. Produce root, fill, and cap passes that pass VT and, where required, PT/RT/UT with specific attention to eliminating porosity and incomplete penetration. Read weld symbols, WPS, and travelers to confirm joint detail, filler, position, and inspection hold points before welding. Verify fit-up, joint prep, and cleanliness; reject and return non-conforming fit-ups before welding. Maintain filler metal and heat-number traceability per code package requirements. Present work for in-process and final inspection; complete weld ID, sign-offs, and repair tracking. Follow all hot-work, ventilation, fume-control (including Cr(VI)/stainless fume), and cylinder-handling safety procedures.

Experience Needed:

1 Year of experience is requirement. Weld test will be given by employer. Employer will conduct drug, reference and background check. Must be 18 or older due to this position. Hazardous equipment will be handle on the job site.
