Job Title:
Welder and Fabricator Job Description This role involves performing high-quality MIG and/or TIG welding and metal fabrication on aluminum and steel components in a production-focused shop environment. You will interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings, prepare and assemble materials, and ensure that all welds and structures meet precise specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols to complete fabrication projects accurately. Measure, cut, and prepare raw aluminum and steel materials according to detailed specifications. Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on a variety of components and assemblies, ensuring strong and clean welds. Lay out parts, mark hole locations, and ensure proper alignment based on design drawings. Fabricate and assemble metal structures using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Use fabrication tools such as grinders, saws, and plasma cutters to cut, shape, and finish materials. Perform basic fitting and assembly of parts prior to welding to ensure proper fit and alignment. Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality, strength, and adherence to specifications. Work efficiently in a production-based environment and support the achievement of production quotas. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures while operating tools and equipment. Essential Skills At least 1 year of welding and fabrication experience, including MIG and/or TIG welding. Ability to read and understand blueprints and fabrication drawings. Hands-on experience working with aluminum and steel materials. Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and laying out materials accurately. Ability to mark hole locations, lay out designs, and prepare materials for fabrication. Comfort working in a production-based environment with defined output expectations. Experience using fabrication tools such as grinders, saws, and plasma cutters. Strong understanding of welding techniques and weld quality requirements. Ability to use a tape measure and operate saws safely and accurately. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience fabricating railings, canopies, or similar metal structures. Experience working in a shop environment with production quotas. Ability to perform basic fitting and assembly prior to welding. Experience with flux core welding and general fitting and grinding work. Solid blueprint reading skills and familiarity with weld symbols. Comfort using a variety of hand tools and power tools in a fabrication setting. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a warehouse/manufacturing environment without air conditioning. You will work Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with opportunities for overtime. The role involves hands-on work with welding equipment, grinders, saws, plasma cutters, and other fabrication tools in a production-focused shop setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
