This role ensures the safety, functionality, and structural integrity of airport assets, working in compliance with FAA regulations, safety standards, and airport policies. Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, and Arc welding on a variety of metals (steel, aluminum, stainless steel). Repair and fabricate metal components for airport infrastructure including gates, hangars, baggage systems, fencing, and signage. Inspect and maintain welding equipment and tools. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Conduct routine inspections of metal structures to detect defects or safety hazards. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to complete projects on schedule. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area. Adhere to local, state, and federal codes including OSHA and FAA regulations.
The ideal candidate shall be:
Familiar with the use of hand and power tools Skilled in light metal working and fabrication Skilled in the use of welding and cutting tools, oxygen acetylene torch, metal inert gas (MIG) and/or tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding Must be a certified Welder with certification 3G or higher.
Standard qualifications:
Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Completing Must possess a Government ID and social security card. Must be able to obtain and keep an airport security badge. Must have or be able to attain reliable transportation. Able to work in extreme conditions, such as hot and cold weather, as well as small spaces Able to receive appropriate security clearances after completing a criminal background check. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work extended hours depending on operational needs. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
