Job Title:
TIG Welder Fabricator Job Description The TIG Welder Fabricator will perform MIG and TIG welding and metal fabrication on a variety of parts, including electrical cabinets, enclosures, fuel tanks, bumpers, and similar components. This role operates in a manufacturing production environment with a mix of repeat parts and approximately 10-15% new parts for new customers. You will work closely with the engineering team, interpreting engineered drawings and blueprints to produce high-quality fabricated parts, with MIG welding as the primary focus.

Shift:
7:30am-4:30pm Responsibilities Perform MIG and TIG welding on a wide range of parts such as electrical cabinets, enclosures, fuel tanks, and bumpers. Fabricate and fit metal components together according to engineered drawings and blueprints. Work from detailed engineering drawings and blueprints to interpret dimensions, tolerances, and weld specifications. Set up and adjust welding machines and equipment independently for each job. Weld and fabricate using sheet metal and structural materials, including thin mild steel (16 gauge to 1/4" plate), aluminum, and stainless steel. Assemble welded components into finished products or subassemblies according to specifications. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe individual work area within the weld shop. Collaborate with engineering and other welders to resolve fabrication issues and ensure product quality. Adapt to a production environment that includes both repeat parts and new custom parts in a cyclical workflow. Continuously develop skills to take on more complex jobs and an increasing amount of TIG welding work over time. Essential Skills 4+ years of fabrication experience, including welding and fitting metal components together. 4+ years of MIG and TIG welding experience in a fabrication or production environment. Strong proficiency with MIG welding as the primary welding process. Proficiency in TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel materials. Experience TIG welding thin mild steel, ideally ranging from 16 gauge to 1/4" plate. Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and engineered drawings. Capability to set up and operate welding machines and related equipment independently. Experience working with sheet metal and structural steel in a fabrication setting. Solid understanding of welding techniques, joint preparation, and assembly practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Demonstrated ability to work from detailed engineering documentation and adapt to different part designs. Experience assembling welded components into finished structures or assemblies. Comfort working in a production environment with a mix of repeat and new custom parts. Willingness to expand TIG welding responsibilities and take on more complex jobs over time. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds and finished products. Work Environment The role is based in a dedicated weld shop with approximately nine welders, where each welder works in their own space while still being part of a collaborative team. The environment is described as positive and supportive, with opportunities to progress into handling more jobs and a greater volume of TIG welding as skills develop. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The setting is a manufacturing production environment that handles both repeat parts and new custom work, using welding machines and typical fabrication tools and equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orange Park, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
