Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate and assemble metal components. Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, power tools, and shop math to ensure precise dimensions and quality control during fabrication processes. Operate fabrication equipment including press brake machines, plasma cutters, pipe threading tools, and sheet metal shears to shape and assemble materials. Conduct rigging, pipe threading, ductwork installation, and assembly tasks on construction sites or within fabrication shops while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety procedures related to welding, machining, handling metal materials, and operating forklifts or other heavy machinery. Collaborate with team members on projects involving mechanical fabrication, metal materials handling, schematics interpretation, and assembly tasks to meet project deadlines. Qualifications Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops with a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes. Skilled in various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, with knowledge of AWS standards. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately. Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise fabrication work. Mechanical knowledge of power tools, hand tools, rigging equipment, pipe threading machines, plasma cutters, press brakes, and other fabrication machinery. Experience working with sheet metal fabrication and ductwork installation is highly desirable. Knowledge of safety protocols related to welding operations, heavy machinery use (including forklifts), machining processes, and construction site safety standards. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to interpret technical drawings effectively. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining high-quality standards.
