Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pipe Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for welding and assembling metal pipes and components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Your expertise will ensure the integrity and quality of piping systems used in various construction and industrial projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects, utilizing advanced welding techniques and mechanical knowledge to deliver exceptional results. Responsibilities Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine welding specifications and procedures. Perform pipe welding using various techniques including Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) in accordance with AWS standards and ASME codes. Measure and mark metal materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication. Prepare pipes and metal components through cutting, plasma cutting, machining, and sheet metal fabrication processes. Assemble piping systems by fitting, aligning, and welding pipe sections while adhering to blueprint specifications and mechanical blueprint interpretation. Use power tools, hand tools, and mechanical fabrication equipment safely and efficiently during all phases of welding and assembly. Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and visual checks to verify weld integrity and dimensional accuracy. Follow strict safety protocols at all times, maintaining a clean work environment and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Requirements Proven construction site experience with a strong background in metal fabrication and pipe welding. Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including GMAW, SMAW, TIG, FCAW, and gas metal arc welding. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, mechanical drawings, and ASME codes & standards. Experience with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math, and measuring tools for precise fabrication. Mechanical knowledge of pipe systems, assembly processes, machining operations, plasma cutting, sheet metal work, and fabrication shop procedures. Familiarity with crane operation for lifting heavy materials safely on-site or in the shop environment. Strong understanding of safety protocols related to welding operations and construction environments. Ability to work effectively with hand tools, power tools, fabricating equipment, and assembly machinery within a fast-paced setting.
