SOLDERER
First shift Starting pay - $16, with higher rates available based on experience and qualifications.

Position Overview :
Assemble electronics and motors to meet strict specifications. The Solderer will prepare and solder components to build fabricated metal parts and items.
Essential Job Functions :
Heat soldering irons or work pieces to specified temperatures for soldering, using gas flames or electric current. Reflow solder along adjoining edges of work pieces to solder joints, using soldering irons, gas torches, or electric-ultrasonic equipment. Reflow solder to fill holes, indentations, and seams of fabricated metal products, using soldering equipment. Assemble electrical or electronic systems and support structures; and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, and assembly casings, using rivets, bolts, soldering and micro-welding equipment as described in IPC-610. Connect cables, tubes, and wiring, according to specifications as described in IPC-610. Clean parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths. Ability to follow work instructions and enter data according to IPC-610 requirements. Examine seams for defects, and rework defective joints or broken parts. Melt and separate brazed or soldered joints to remove and straighten damaged or misaligned components, using irons or furnaces. Clean work pieces to remove dirt and excess debris, using solvent solutions, files, wire brushes, or grinders. Use furnace equipment to reflow braze alloys for component assembly. Log daily progress on the computer. Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace. Perform hand assembly operations by using mechanical presses and hand tools.
Required Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of soldering process and techniques.
  • The ability to read and understand written instruction.
  • The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
