This role focuses on repairing defects in cast brass and aluminum components to restore structural integrity and meet quality standards. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in welding, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment. Key Responsibilities Perform weld repairs on castings, primarily brass and aluminum components Identify and repair defects such as cracks, porosity, and surface discontinuities Use GTAW (TIG) and other welding processes as required for casting repair Grind, clean, and prepare castings prior to and after welding Interpret blueprints, repair instructions, and welding symbols Ensure repaired parts meet dimensional and quality requirements Inspect work for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards Maintain welding equipment and work area in safe, clean condition Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures, including PPE requirements
QualificationsRequired:
3+ years of welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Strong experience with weld repair of castings (preferred over structural welding) Proficiency in TIG (GTAW); additional welding processes a plus Ability to grind, prep, and finish cast metal surfaces Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Preferred:
Experience working with brass and aluminum castings AWS certification (preferred but not required) Experience in foundry or precision metal manufacturing environments Work Environment Heavy industrial foundry/manufacturing environment Exposure to heat, noise, and metal processing operations Requires use of PPE at all times and strict adherence to safety procedures All the Benefits and Perks You Need for
