Entry-Level TIG Welder:
Primary Responsibilities:
TIG Welding:
Perform welding duties using the TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) process to join metals, ensuring the quality and strength of the weld.
Reading Blueprints and Drawings:
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine welding positions, types of welds, and specific measurements.
Equipment Operation:
Set up and maintain welding equipment, including selecting appropriate tungsten electrodes, filler rods, and adjusting settings for the correct welding parameters.
Weld Inspection:
Inspect welded joints to ensure they meet required specifications and standards. Perform quality checks to ensure proper weld integrity, alignment, and finish.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety guidelines and wear protective gear (e.g., welding helmet, gloves, apron). Ensure a safe working environment by identifying and reporting any safety hazards.
Cleaning and Prepping Materials:
Prepare metal surfaces for welding, which may include cleaning, grinding, and preheating metal surfaces to ensure a proper bond.
Maintaining Equipment:
Maintain welding tools and machinery, ensuring they are in proper working condition, and report any malfunctions or damage. Collaborating with

Work in collaboration with other welders and production teams to meet production goals and deadlines.
Skills and Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of welding techniques, specifically TIG welding. Understanding of welding safety standards. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Basic mechanical skills, including the ability to handle and maintain welding equipment. Attention to detail and strong hand-eye coordination. Ability to work in various positions (e.g., overhead, vertical, and horizontal). Good communication skills for interacting with colleagues and supervisors. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a welding training program or certification (e.g., AWS, or through a vocational school). Prefer 1 year of TIG welding experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs). Ability to work in various environments, such as outdoors, high-temperature areas, or confined spaces. This position is ideal for someone looking to start a career in welding and gain experience working with advanced welding techniques and machinery.
