Job Title:
Pipe Welder Job Description This role involves performing commercial pipe welding and pipefitting for new construction and renovation projects in the Tampa and Palmetto areas. You will install, repair, and maintain a variety of piping systems, ensuring safe, accurate, and high-quality work in a fast-paced construction environment. Responsibilities Plan the installation and repair of piping systems, including cutting, threading, and bending pipe to required specifications. Lay out, assemble, install, maintain, and repair a wide range of commercial pipe systems. Mount hangers, brackets, and supports to secure piping systems according to design and safety standards. Install valves, couplings, and other fittings to complete piping assemblies. Perform soldering and brazing on carbon steel and copper pipe as required by project specifications. Work with schedule 40 steel pipe ranging from 2.5 inches to 8 inches in diameter. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project documents to ensure accurate installation. Follow all applicable safety procedures and guidelines while working on active construction sites. Collaborate with other trades and team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule. Essential Skills Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience performing pipefitting and welding work. Proficiency in soldering and brazing carbon steel and copper pipe. Hands-on experience working with schedule 40 steel pipe from 2.5 inches to 8 inches in diameter. Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and related drawings. 6G welding certification or the ability to pass a 6G weld test. Strong knowledge of commercial pipefitting practices and standards. Ability to plan, lay out, and execute piping installations and repairs with minimal supervision. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is field-based at active new construction job sites in the Tampa and Palmetto areas. You will work outdoors for the majority of the project, in conditions that can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The work involves physical activity, including lifting, climbing, and working at heights or in various positions to install and weld piping. Standard construction attire and appropriate personal protective equipment are required at all times to ensure safety on site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valrico, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
