Job Description

NSC Staffing has an immediate direct hire opportunity for a Senior Fabricator /Welder in Brunswick, GA Job Summary Our client, a leading manufacturer supporting naval and heavy industrial projects, is seeking an experienced Senior Fabricator to join their welding and fabrication team. This position is responsible for the fabrication, fit-up, and welding of complex steel structures and mission-critical components built to stringent quality and military specifications. The ideal candidate will possess advanced welding skills, strong blueprint reading abilities, and experience working in a high precision manufacturing environment. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects while contributing to products that support critical industrial and defense operations. Key Responsibilities Perform advanced welding using: GTAW (TIG) GMAW (MIG) FCAW (Flux Core) SMAW (Stick) SAW (Submerged Arc Welding) Fabricate and fit complex steel structures and assemblies. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and specifications. Perform fabrication work to MILSPEC and customer quality requirements. Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently. Use precision measuring instruments and apply GD&T principles. Inspect completed welds and assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards. Troubleshoot fabrication and welding issues as they arise. Assist in training and mentoring less experienced fabricators and welders. Maintain a safe and organized work environment. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 5 years of advanced welding and fabrication experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment. Current or previous certifications in GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols. Experience performing MILSPEC-level fabrication and welding. Ability to pass advanced weld qualification tests, including 6G pipe welding. Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes. Proficiency using precision measurement tools and GD&T. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Technical school degree, welding diploma, or advanced fabrication certifications. SAW welding experience and equipment setup knowledge. Master Rigger certification. Experience welding aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, and nickel alloys. Experience supporting defense, maritime, naval, or heavy industrial manufacturing operations. Work Environment Heavy industrial manufacturing setting. Frequent standing, lifting, welding, grinding, and fabrication activities. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required. Work performed around heavy machinery, cranes, and fabrication equipment.
