Structural Welder Position

Structural Welder Position Job Description Ideally 1+ years of experience in a shipyard, the Navy, or marine industry working on submarines, carriers, Navy ships, or similar marine structures. Perform structural welding and fabrication for both new construction and repair of submarine and ship components. Utilize Pulse MIG (GMAW) and push button TIG (GTAW) welding processes to complete high-quality welds on various metals. Interpret and follow blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to plan, sequence, and execute welding tasks accurately. Cut, burn, and weld metals to fabricate, modify, and repair structural components and assemblies. Prepare, clean, and fit surfaces and components prior to welding, ensuring proper alignment and fit-up. Assemble, tack, and weld parts in flat, vertical, and overhead positions using processes such as FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW. Build up worn or defective surfaces and perform structural repairs on existing equipment and components. Operate burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and cut materials to specified dimensions and tolerances. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Marys, GA.
