Job Description

Job Title:
Traveling Welder ($32/hr and $140/day) Job Description This traveling welder role offers the opportunity to work independently on a wide range of custom and structural welding projects in a family-owned job shop environment. You will primarily perform MIG and Flux core welding on steel components of varying thicknesses, using blueprints and weld symbols to complete high-quality work in multiple positions. The role involves both large structural projects and unique one-off parts, providing variety and hands-on craftsmanship in a growing organization.
Wage:
$32/hr and 140/day per diem for all 7 days Responsibilities Perform custom welding work independently on a variety of projects, including large structural components and one-off parts for customers. Utilize MIG and flux core welding processes to weld primarily steel materials ranging from approximately 1/4 inch to several inches in thickness. Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to determine weld types, sizes, positions, and fabrication requirements. Perform fitting and fabrication tasks, including measuring, cutting, and assembling components prior to welding. Use grinding tools and other finishing equipment to clean, smooth, and prepare welds and materials as needed. Essential Skills At least 3-5+ years of MIG and Flux Core welding Experience fitting up and building custom weldments from blueprints Previous structural welding experience highly preferred Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Des Moines, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr.
