Job Description

Position Title:
Welder Wage:
$22.00 per hour
Shift:
1st, 2nd
Hours:
5:00am-3:15pm; 3:00pm-1:30am QPS Employment Group has a great Welder position available at a company in Dubuque, IA. This position offers an excellent opportunity to engage in both manual and robotic welding in a collaborative environment. Candidates can contribute through precise manual welding or by operating and maintaining robotic welding systems, making it a versatile role within the manufacturing team. Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Program, set up, and operate robotic welding equipment according to specifications. Troubleshoot and repair robotic welding systems, controllers, sensors, and peripheral devices. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on welding robots and tooling. Monitor weld quality, making adjustments to optimize performance and consistency. Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings. Develop and refine robotic welding programs to enhance productivity and reduce scrap. Maintain accurate production, maintenance, and quality records. Follow all safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, efficiency, and quality. Keep work area clean and organized. Safely set up parts for welding using hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Position, align, and fit components into fixtures with precision. Operate manual welding equipment (e.g., MIG, TIG) to weld various materials and thicknesses. Ensure welds meet quality standards through inspection and testing. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Perform related tasks to support quality and safety standards.
Welder Requirements:
Proficient in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, etc.). Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot robotic systems and perform manual welding. Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed. Welding experience or completion of a trade school welding program required. Successful completion of an in-house weld test. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and good attendance. High school diploma or GED required.
