Job Description
Overview We are seeking a skilled and energetic Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components according to detailed technical drawings and specifications. Your expertise will help ensure the quality, safety, and precision of our projects, contributing to the successful completion of construction and fabrication tasks on-site and in-shop. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of metal materials and advanced welding techniques in a fast-paced environment committed to excellence. Duties Now Hiring Full-time Welder/Fabricator for residential and commercial fences and gates of all types. Must be in good physical condition and must be able to lift 75 pounds. Some overnight travel may be required.
Prior construction experience is required. Prior fence construction preferred. Must have a valid driver's license in good standing. CDL would also be beneficial.
Work out of our Fort Dodge and Ames locations Cut, shape, weld, solder, and assemble sheet metal, ductwork, and other metal materials following strict safety protocols. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints for mechanical fabrication projects. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to all safety regulations related to construction site or shop fabrication activities. Proven construction site experience or metal fabrication shop experience demonstrating proficiency in welding and assembly tasks. Strong knowledge of welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and plasma cutting. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately. Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math for precise fabrication work. Experience working with sheet metal fabrication, ductwork assembly, rigging, machining operations, and press brake machines is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge of ASME codes & standards as well as AWS standards for welding practices. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and safety gear while following strict safety protocols. Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics related to mechanical fabrication projects involving metal materials. Excellent attention to detail combined with strong mechanical aptitude; capable of working independently or as part of a team on complex projects.
