Job Description

United Group Services (UGS) is currently seeking local industrial Pipe Welders to perform work at client site in Steamboat Rock, Iowa.

UGS is a leader in industrial construction, serving clients across a multitude of industries through the planning and execution of large-scale projects at operational and manufacturing facilities, power plants, refineries, and more. We specialize in the fabrication, welding, and installation of complex piping systems, the fabrication and installation of structural steel, rigging and millwright services, plant relocation and retrofit services, and insulation and scaffolding.
We Offer :
Steady, year-round work $39.85 per hour plus overtime $100 per diem for all days worked, plus one day Full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, Paid Time Off, and 401k A progressive career path with opportunities for growth Job Duties Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures to determine job requirements. Weld pipe components in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead) using processes such as SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW. Fit and assemble pipe and fittings to precise tolerances using cutting, grinding, and measuring tools. Inspect welds for quality and conformance using visual inspection or testing methods. Maintain and repair welding equipment and tools. Follow safety procedures, including proper use of PPE, fire prevention, and confined space protocols. Collaborate with pipefitters, fabricators, and supervisors to ensure efficient job completion. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
At least 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Strong knowledge of pipefitting techniques, tools, and materials. Welders must certify with UGS by taking our Weld test. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Proficiency using precision tools such as calipers for accurate measurements. Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing pipefitting work. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces. Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions safely and accurately.
