Job Description

Welder & Fabricator About the Role We're looking for a skilled Welder & Fabricator who takes pride in turning raw materials into high-quality, precision-built products. In this hands-on role, you'll fabricate, assemble, and repair custom metal components and machinery, working with a range of tools and techniques—including MIG, TIG, and stick welding. What You'll Do Bring designs to life by performing MIG, TIG, and stick welding across a variety of metals Fabricate and assemble components through cutting, bending, and shaping to meet exact specifications Repair and enhance machinery to improve performance and extend lifespan Operate manual mills, lathes, saws, plasma cutters, and other fabrication tools Finish parts with grinding, sanding, and polishing for a clean, professional result Work from blueprints, technical drawings, or custom designs to produce accurate builds Inspect your work to ensure it meets quality and safety standards Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to keep operations running smoothly Contribute to a safe, organized, and team-oriented shop environment What You Bring 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in welding and metal fabrication Strong proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding Experience operating manual machining equipment (mills, lathes, saws, grinders) Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum A strong eye for detail and ability to work within tight tolerances Solid mechanical aptitude and a problem-solving mindset Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an active shop environment Bonus Skills (Nice to Have): CNC or advanced machining experience Custom fabrication or machine-building experience Experience with brake presses, shears, or advanced cutting tools Trade school training or certification Why You'll Love Working Here Growth opportunities: Be part of a company that invests in your development—many team members have advanced into leadership roles Stable and expanding company: Join a close-knit team backed by strong, sustained growth Competitive benefits: Health coverage, retirement plan matching, paid holidays, and vacation time Team-oriented culture: Work alongside experienced professionals who value collaboration and knowledge sharing Work Environment You'll work in a well-equipped production facility with a true hands-on shop setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carol Stream, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
