Entry Level Welder Job Description Join our team as a Welder, where you will play a crucial role in operating welding equipment to create steel and aluminum parts for consumer and industrial storage and climbing units. You will be responsible for setting up and adjusting the welder, replacing spools of welding wire and tips, and ensuring the quality of the products by conducting visual and measurement inspections using blueprints as a guide. Responsibilities Operate welders to produce steel and aluminum parts. Set up welder and make necessary adjustments. Replace spool of welding wire and tips as needed. Obtain designated parts and place completed products on conveyor lines or designated areas. Perform visual and periodic measurement inspections to maintain quality standards. Report mechanical problems with the welder to the supervisor or maintenance. Record production output on daily reports, including part/model number and quantities. Operate a grinder to remove excess burrs and welding wire. Monitor parts used for production and notify the supervisor of material requirements and shortages. Essential Skills Proficiency in MIG welding. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Experience in a production welding format. Additional Skills & Qualifications Welding certificate. Work Environment Work in a clean, well-lit facility that is comfortable, although not temperature controlled. The position is for the 2nd shift, running from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with some overtime required. A shift differential is provided for this schedule. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Crystal Lake, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $49920.00/yr.
